Fort Custer has over 3,000 acres of recreation area with 4 trails with meandering river meadows and a few inland Lakes. The park’s divided into modern and primitive camping areas. The bathroom building was also recently rebuilt.

Indian Creek Campground, Tecumseh Michigan
This is a family friendly campground especially for families just entering into the camping hobby, it has 55 sites and is very family friendly with a small pond for fishing and kayaking. The grounds also have a small stage, zip lines, and a garden for activities.

Hayes State Park, Onsted Michigan
Hayes State Park is divided into an East and West loop and is wheelchair accessible. The park is centered between 4-5 inland lakes and has amenities such as swings, volleyball courts, and picnic tables and is considered kid friendly. Be cautious of racing weekends at nearby Michigan International Speedway though as the park will be packed with race fans.

Brush Creek Campground, Lawrence Michigan
located along brush Creek the campground has 125 sites, 60 with power and water. Activities in the area include the Pawpaw Wine Harvest Festival as well as the Van Buren Historical Society Museum. The campground is open through October depending on the weather.

Holland State Park, Holland MI
Holland State Park is on Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa which flows into Lake Michigan. The park as two different camping areas. Lake Macatawa which is located on grass or gravel and a modern beach which is on paved road. There are also 12 Americans with disabilities accessible campsites. The pier which you can fish off goes out to Big Red lighthouse. The Ottawa Beach General Store is close by for any supplies or food you might need.

Silver Lake State Park, Mears Michigan
Silver Lake State Park is located along the shores of Lake Michigan and has over 3,000 acres of area with modern campgrounds. The Sandy dunes along Lake Michigan have an ORV area offering 450 acres of ORV riding on the dunes. The campground has 200 sites ,all with electrical outlets. A few are located on Silver Lake. local shops can offer you supplies and food.
Wilderness State Park, Carp Lake Michigan
With over 12,000 acres and over 600 camping sites most with electrical hookups, Wilderness State Park is still one of Michigan’s most popular large area parks.
Most sites have views of
Lake Michigan. There are also several primitive sites, which are called back country sites, and bear visits are a distinct possibility.

Ojibwa Campgrounds and Recreation Area, Baraga Michigan
Most of the sites at Ojibwa R. A. have views of Keweenaw Bay and most all of the sites have electrical hookup and the bathrooms were recently remodeled. The campground also hosts the Ojibwe Pow Wow which happens in July. All sites are registered on a first come first serve basis.

Anderson Lake West State Forest, Anderson Lake Michigan
Anderson Lake West offers 15 primitive style sites along Anderson Lake and also is right next to the Anderson Lake Pathway hiking trail with 6+ mi of trails. Sites are given out on a first come, first serve basis. Please be aware of bears.

Indian Lake State Park, Manistee Michigan
One of the larger lakes in the U P, Indian Lake has two separate campgrounds with grassy sites with electrical hookups on most of them. There’s also a paved walking trail around part of the lake

Pretty Lake State Forest, Luce Co. Michigan
If quiet and remoteness is what you’re looking for Pretty Late will serve you well. It’s one of a chain of Lakes located in Luce County, only non-motorized vehicles are allowed. these are primitive sites and are available on a first come first serve basis

Tahquamenon falls State Park, Paradise Michigan
Tahquamenon falls State Park encompasses over 13 miles of the Tahquamenon River including the upper and lower falls and has five separate camping areas. some of the sites have electrical hookup. There are nearby convenience stores for supplies and souvenirs

Black Lake State Forest Campground, Cheboygan Michigan
Black Lake State Forest is separated into two campgrounds the upper and the lower the upper is located on the north side of Black Lake and has off road vehicle trails coming out of it. The lower does not allow ORV’s. Camp sites are on a first come, first served basis.

Thompson’s Harbor State Park, Posen Michigan
Thompson harbor has over 7 miles of semi rocky to sandy beach along Lake Huron with primitive or cabin camping available. located off of route 23 for easy access to southern or northern destinations.
Ossineke State Forest Campground, Ossineke Michigan
On the shore of Lake Huron and heavily wooded,the Ossineke State Forest has over 40 primitive only campground sites that are available only on a first come basis. The beach is mostly sandy and quiet. Nearby Devil’s River offers fishing.

Harrisville State Park, Harrisville Michigan
Harrisville heads modern camping sites most right along Lakeview and is one of the oldest parts in Michigan. The park is within walking distance of the resort town of Harrisville. We recommend taking the perimeter sites if available. Two track chairs are available for disabled visitors on a first come basis.
